I really shouldn't go eat at my roommate's restaurant. Well, it isn't really his restaurant, but he works there about 60 hours a week, so that's what we all call it. But I shouldn't go. Every time I go, I always order way too much, then I eat it all, I hardly pay anything because of his discount, and then I wallow out to my car to drive the 25 miles home feeling like a bloated hippopotomus.
Is that how you spell hippopotomus? Spelling should have been a subject well past the fourth grade.
Anyway, I'm full. Very full. I was driving over there and I heard this commercial on the radio for a bacon-wrapped cheeseburger smothered in jalapenos, and that kind of set the mood for the night. My roommate's restaurant didn't have a bacon-wrapped cheesebuger, but they did have a 1/3 pound Black Angus burger with two huge slices of Canadian Bacon (the big round kind, not the dinky little strips), which I ordered medium rare, topped with onions and finely grated cheddar cheese. And hickory sauce. Oh, and a big pile of fries on the side. And the potato soup - yummy - also topped with bacon and cheddar. And the four glasses of Iced Tea.
I was so full, I grabbed two toothpicks on the way out.
I was trying to hold back after my last visit saw me consume a 12-ounce top sirloin (medium rare), this really good garlic stuffed baked potato, and a big salad with that snappy balsamic vinegar dressing that's popular now. This was after roommate #3 and I shared a great big bowl of spinach-artichoke dip with tortilla chips. And seven Iced Teas, which I didn't share.
I really just need to stop going there. I'm just a little guy and every time I go there it seems like I consume about 2% of my body weight in one sitting.
I think I need to go hibernate now.
Wow. That is an amazing amount of food. Don't forget to stock up on veggies too!
